Dogs do not live as long as human beings, and sadly, the day will come when you have to say goodbye to your good friend. This should of course be done as humanely as possible.

If the dog is old  andsick, you should take the decision to go to the veterinarian and have it humanely put to sleep.

You can also ask the veterinarian to come home to you, which is obviously the very best for the dog. Quietly sleeping in the usual environment it will not have to go through the stress of visiting the veterinary clinic, where most dogs are afraid to come.

The veterinarian will first give it a sedative injection, and then the last injection, which makes go permanently to sleep without pain. It is a quiet and peaceful way to say goodbye after what has hopefully been a long and good life.
