About
accessories and toys for your dog You can get a myriad of things for your dog. Some of them are very luxurious others are more common and not quite as expensive. Let us make it clear right away that if you buy the expensive luxury stuff, you do so for your own sake and not for the dog. The dog is completely indifferent whether it has a diamond collar or a cheap one from the supermarket. When you buy a dog, there are a few things you should acquire. A collar of the appropriate size, a leash, a basket to sleep in and, if it is a puppy, maybe some toys. If you have a puppy, there is no need to buy an expensive basket, as it will very likely be chewed to pieces within no time. A cardboard box, where one side is cut away might be just as good as a start, though not necessarily as nice to look at with human eyes. The same goes for toys. You can buy plenty of fine and fun stuff to the dog, but you can also easily make them yourself. For example, cut the metal of an old leather belt and make one or more knots on it and you get a good chewing toy. The same applies to old socks or towels. Tie a few knots and they are good to chew on. Whole or half apples and pears can also be used to chew in and they are even healthy (wash them first or buy organic). An old shoe is also good for itchy teeth and gums, but watch out for laces and buttons. |
